welcome to
I had the chance to hang out with this gorgeous group of gals for their Group Graduation Photo Session, and my gosh, they were so amazing to work with! I absolutely love the opportunity to photograph a group session – each graduation photo season, I get the chance to have a few group sessions of grads that are also friends, sisters, and even roommates! Elena, Katlyn, Shannon, and Taylor know each other through their sorority organization and my alum chapter, Kappa Alpha Theta Epsilon Nu, so it’s no surprise they wanted to do their graduation pictures together on Virginia Tech’s stunning campus!
When I photograph group sessions, we get the chance to do lots of portraits for each individual client, as well as the whole group! The gorgeous Elena, she made my job behind the camera so easy during our session! During her time at Virginia Tech, she studied Real Estate with a minor in Public and Urban Affairs – and she’s channeling this incredible degree into a full-time career after school in commercial real estate in the D.C. area! When Elena wasn’t hard at work in class, she loved grabbing food at her favorite restaurant in town, Lefty’s!
Beyond just being in the same sorority on campus, Kappa Alpha Theta, some of these gals’ favorite memories from their time in undergrad was getting to go to football games in Lane Stadium! We had the chance to kick off (no pun intended!) our session in the stadium, before making our way over to Burruss Hall and the Pylons.
Next up, the incredible Shannon – she has the most bubbly, outgoing personality, and made sure that we all kept constantly laughing the entire time! Shannon studied Business Information Technology and Management in Virginia Tech’s Pamplin School of Business, and is kicking off her career working in Public Safety! Shannon talked about how much joining a sorority during her time in undergrad changed her experience – having a ton of friends and sisters suddenly made a huge campus feel much smaller!
Taylor was a rockstar both on campus and on camera! Taylor studied Human, Nutrition, Food, and Exercise (HFNE) and minored in psychology, and is now starting her Master’s degree at Johns Hopkins in Nursing! Aside from incredible football games and spending time downtown with friends, Taylor adored getting to walk by Burruss Hall hearing the bells ringing on the hour and resonating over the Drillfield and campus. When she had a free moment in between classes, she often found herself at Torgerson Bridge, especially at sunset.
Last but certainly not least, the stunning Katlyn – beautiful both in these portraits as well as on the inside, too! During her time at Virginia Tech, she studied Marketing with minors in Sales and International Business. After graduation, she’s headed to Mars Wrigley to work in sales – an incredible start to a full career ahead of her! She fondly remembers her time at Virginia Tech both on campus and studying abroad, and had the opportunity to travel the world for a semester while living in Lugano, Switzerland – how cool is that?!? Virginia Tech’s campus will always be home to Katlyn, and especially loved getting to watch a sunset from the Pylons.
Check out a few more of my absolute favorites from their session – congrats to the four of you, I cannot wait to see where your incredible time at Virginia Tech takes y’all next!
