Amanda and Justin, what an incredible pair. After delaying their Ohio-based wedding three different times due to COVID, they decided upon an intimate beachside wedding at Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, SC, and the third time was certainly the charm! Surrounded by their closest loved ones and families, they spent their day having an absolute blast with an incredible group of people!
When Amanda had first reached out to me earlier this year, they were in the midst of making the difficult decision to move their wedding from Cincinnati, OH all the way to the Charleston, SC area – no small feat! I remember asking her what was most important to them for their wedding day here in Charleston, and her reply was so poignant – that they wanted to be surrounded by the people they love most, in a beautiful place, for a heck of a party, but most importantly, that they truly felt like they were getting the chance to finally celebrate being married. Similarly, her desire for wedding photography was aligned to this, in that she wanted to feel like themselves and not stress about the photographs, but also wanted to feel like a real bride after having experienced so many reschedules and heartache from being a 2020 couple originally. I am so, so grateful that she and Justin entrusted me with their wedding photography here in South Carolina – I can’t put to words what a lovely, joyful wedding day this was to be behind the camera for!
And as a vendor, one of the coolest parts of this wedding was the mixing of vendors from near and far to make this day possible – I had such a wonderful time working with the incredible Lauren from Everlasting Events, who effortlessly planned and executed a flawless Cincinnati-to-Charleston wedding; Megan from Salt Rock Studios, whose editorial eye for wedding videography made for a stunning and touching video of their day; and exquisite hand-crafted dried florals all the way from Cincinnati, courtesy of Flowers from the Rafters.
From candid first looks, to an oceanside sunset ceremony, to bride and groom portraits with our toes in the sand, ending with a dance-filled reception under the stars, I will truly never forget this beautiful, heartfelt day that was an honor to photograph and be a part of at the stunning Wild Dunes Resort!
