The night before their Charleston wedding, college sweethearts Lea and Grant hosted an incredible rehearsal dinner and welcome party for their family and closest friends at the stunning Post House Inn in Mount Pleasant, SC. We loved photographing this heartfelt and stylish welcome event for these two – filled with incredible design elements, vibrant florals, and joy-filled speeches from family and loved ones as the sun set over the Lowcountry. We are honored to see this gorgeous Post House Inn Rehearsal Dinner recently featured on The White Wren, which you can read here!
Post House Inn
Steeped in historic charm and coastal design, the Post House Inn created the perfect ambiance to kickoff their wedding photos full of celebrations and the sweetest moments. Hosting guests from near and far, it was important to the couple to choose a welcome party venue that immediately transported guests into the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Post House delivers on this in spades. Market umbrellas and cafe chairs and tables line the front of the property, potted olive trees dot the side courtyard filled with cozy outdoor couches just begging to host a proper catch-up over craft cocktails, and the iconic light blue building color seems to pay homage to the popular ‘Haint Blue’ house porches that are found all throughout the area. Inside the property, you’ll find a balance between the Post House guest suites and their flagship restaurant under the same name.
Post House Inn continues to be a favorite spot for Charleston wedding weekend celebrations, whether hosting a rehearsal dinner, welcome party, al fresco reception, or even a farewell brunch, this space has everything you need for your wedding’s festivities! Old Village, a part of Mount Pleasant, SC, is a favorite residential corner of Charleston that is its own perfect place for wedding festivities that differentiates itself from historic Downtown Charleston.

Post House Inn Rehearsal Dinner
Lea, a Charleston-based interior designer, worked closely with her talented vendor team to create a vibrant and lavish fête. No detail was too small for Lea’s discerning eye, and that was certainly true of her rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Post House. Hints of coastal blue were gently woven into their colorful welcome evening – from the bride’s blue satin Mach & Mach stilettos, to the hand-calligraphed and crested sign at the front of the property, to the green, blue, and white menus by Sweet Caroline Designs placed at each seat in the Rose Room for their wedding party and families to enjoy dinner together before the party got started. The bride then worked with talented Charleston-based florist, Tupelo Honey Flower Shop, to create a citrus-infused color palette of delicate blooms and colorful botanicals to compliment the light blue and white coastal theming of the property. Pops of yellow, creamsicle orange, and light rose pink dotted the long family-style dining tables, and astute mini topiaries were the perfectly manicured pairing to the organic floral compotes. Tall tapered candles in ivory littered the table, and set an intimate mood for dinner.
We started off their evening with portraits on film outside the Post House property of the couple on the night before their big day, followed by welcoming their dinner guests into the Rose Room upstairs to keep their intimate dinner indoors. While guests were dining on Post House’s best bites from executive chef Nick Wilber, family and wedding party members were asked to make speeches and toasts, sharing stories of their experiences with the couple. Not a dry eye was left in the house after Lea’s grandfather and Grant’s father each made their own heartfelt speeches, praising the couple and wishing them well on this new life adventure they were about to embark upon. The colorful groom’s cake, designed by the talented O.Z. Cakes, was cut to share as the toasts finished and the dinner concluded with a tasty bite of dessert.
Charleston Welcome Party
As the sun slowly set over Charleston, guests made their way downstairs into the terrace courtyard of the property, where their friends and extended families were invited to attend for a drink the night before. I am so thrilled we got to be a part of their magical evening with such a stellar group of vendors that made it all possible for their Post House Inn Rehearsal Dinner! Cheers to Lea & Grant!
