Shaleatha and LaTroy chose Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina as a classic backdrop for their engagement photos, and I couldn’t be more thrilled at how epic these sunrise photographs turned out! They braved the early morning wakeup call (talk about hair and makeup before 7 AM!) to meet up with us at the beautiful Sullivan’s Island beach, and it was the perfect way to kickoff our time together. As the sun slowly rose along the horizon over the ocean, Shaleatha & LaTroy spent the early morning walking the beach together, hand in hand, and there was not even another soul in sight on the beachfront. Their love was effortless, their style was breathtaking, and their joy was infectious in front of my camera – I love it when my clients feel at ease and relaxed in their engagement photos, as I find that when people are truly comfortable on camera that it makes for the best photographs of them, too.
Once the sun had risen, we made our way over to the Pitt Street Bridge to capture some beautiful waterfront engagement photos overlooking Charleston’s harbor and the iconic Ravenel Bridge. Pitt Street Bridge engagement photos never disappoint – the dreamy location, tall palmetto trees, and water-facing property make for a truly iconic Charleston photo spot.
I am so excited to photograph Shaleatha & LaTroy’s wedding next year at the Cooper River Room in Mount Pleasant, which should make for a beautiful backdrop for their big day! Check out a few of my favorites from their Charleston sunrise engagement session below!
