Beaufort Inn Wedding: Lindsey & Ian

Lindsey and Ian’s Beaufort Inn Wedding balanced the charm of the Southeast with intimate, garden-inspired reception details perfectly! The Beaufort Inn has been one of our favorite wedding venues to photograph at in the greater Hilton Head Island area. Lindsey and Ian’s spring South Carolina wedding day was filled with sweet moments, bursts of color and patterns, and the most joyful couple celebrating their wedding date! We are so honored that Lindsey and Ian’s Beaufort Inn Wedding was recently featured on Style Me Pretty, which you can read here.

Beaufort, SC Wedding Venue

When planning a wedding in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina, many of our couples are looking for a venue that highlights the natural beauty of this part of the world. Couples often look for wedding venues that feature lots of waterfront views nearby, ample Spanish moss, and a wedding reception space that features a combination of grand indoor and outdoor venues options for them to work with. As a Charleston wedding photographer, we cannot recommend enough that when picking a wedding venue in the Southeast, the venue must offer both indoors and outdoors options for your wedding weekend, just in case the weather decides to misbehave! Our best wedding advice for couples still choosing their wedding venue and locale is often to ensure that your venue supports your day, no matter what curveballs are thrown. A venue should be comprised of gorgeous outdoor spaces, indoor rain plan options, and grounds that offer easy access for guests’ convenience and parking.

Beaufort Inn Venues

A Beaufort Inn wedding offers these amenities and so much more for couples and their guests, and creates an environment from which you can host an entire wedding weekend. Nestled in the heart of Beaufort’s Historic Landmark District, the Beaufort Inn finds itself perfectly situated off of Port Republic Street, and is walking distance to waterfront views from Beaufort’s harbour. The main house of the Beaufort Inn features an iconic bubblegum pink color on its siding, with ornate wood trim and carvings that are original to the property and have been immaculately restored. Behind the house, you’ll find a hidden large outdoor patio amongst the cottages and houses on the grounds of the Beaufort Inn. These intimate garden courtyards easily serve as the perfect spot to host a rehearsal dinner or wedding reception nestled amongst the property’s lush gardens.

Beaufort Inn in South Carolina

One of my favorite features of a Beaufort Inn wedding is that you can offer boutique accommodations on site for all of your guests! Utilizing the gorgeous restored cottages all over the property, your guests and families can stay right in the heart of your wedding weekend at this stunning boutique hotel. Overnight accommodations off of the Craven Courtyard and Tabby Place are an easy solution to your traditional wedding hotel block. This allows you to create a perfect blend of togetherness and wedding weekend activities that can all take place in the heart of historic Beaufort.

Beaufort Inn Wedding

Inspired by the lush natural surroundings of the Lowcountry of South Carolina and the couple’s love for bright, whimsical color, this garden party Beaufort Inn wedding was all things joyful and botanical! The bride, Lindsey, working with the event planner team at Hamilton Events, brought to life a wedding weekend vision filled with romantic garden-inspired elements, pops of bold colors, patterned Stradley Davidson and BBJ La Tavola linens, and a hint of Lowcountry oysters throughout to top it all off. Guests were invited to their Beaufort Inn wedding weekend with a playful, custom-illustrated invitation ‘map’ by artist Virginia Brown, featuring their venues, pets, boat, and their favorite spots around downtown Beaufort. Lindsey’s Anne Barge wedding dress’s jacquard fabric was used as the inspiration for much of their upscale garden reception design. The delicate botanical motif of the fabric was woven into their linens, florals, bouquets, and custom wedding cake etching. Floral motifs were found throughout the overall wedding’s design, even down to the pink-hued mix of bridesmaids dresses donned by each bridesmaid.

In an ode to the vibrant pink of The Beaufort Inn, Lindsey worked with the design team at Sylvania Florist to concoct a floral design filled with bright blooms and lush Lowcountry greenery and mosses. Hints of bright pinks, blues, marigold, sage, and purples were gently woven into their wedding’s design, from bouquets, to reception tent compotes, to patterned linens, and all the way down to their customized drink coozies, there was no shortage of vibrant color for their South Carolina wedding day! The bride desired to create a reception space that encouraged their guests to mingle, creating an organic flow throughout the nooks and crannies that the property had to offer. Ivory market umbrellas and standing pub tables in the tabby garden and courtyard of The Beaufort Inn were used to produce a garden gathering effect for guests to enjoy.

Staying true to their South Carolina roots, Lindsey and Ian had crafted a custom-made bar made of oyster shells, and integrated local Spanish moss in their stunning floral tent entryway. This stunning cocktail hour centerpiece was hand-designed and constructed by the family of the bride, and created the perfect play on a Lowcountry classic detail for their reception! Guests were seated in cane and bamboo chairs under a draped ceiling white tent filled with sage green taper candles and colorful compotes. As the sun set over Beaufort’s waterfront, Lindsey & Ian shared a few quiet moments on the docks at the Waterfront Park in Historic Beaufort, even taking a moment to hop on Ian’s boat that was docked in that very same harbor! The couple & their guests made their way to the open-air dance floor to boogie away to classic songs, played by the local Hilton Head band The Nice Guys, whose stage setup featured a climbing jasmine garden arch to frame their 4-piece band.  A huge congratulations to Lindsey and Ian, we could not be more smitten with having been able to capture your stunning dream wedding at the Beaufort Inn this spring!
