Molly and Evan chose the gorgeous backdrop of Charleston’s main harbor for their Charleston sailboat engagement photos, and we couldn’t be more thrilled at the end result! These two joined us for a Charleston sailing charter with Sundog Sailing to chase the sunset around Historic Charleston and the Battery one gorgeous evening. As a Charleston engagement photographer, we always recommend picking incredible backdrops for your Charleston engagement photos, whether Downtown Charleston, or something closer to the gorgeous waterfront. Enjoy our favorite film scans from this stunning Charleston engagement session in a favorite, beautiful city!
Charleston Engagement Photographer
Whenever our South Carolina brides look to schedule their engagement photos in the Lowcountry, we always have a whole list of incredible places to recommend to them that we work at. Locations for engagement sessions are selected and tailored to fit the couple, their personalities, and their wedding photography desires, and always in the pursuit of delivering beautiful images from them at such an important milestone in their relationship. Some of our favorite properties in and around Charleston to take engagement photos at include Kiawah Island, Lowndes Grove, and the beaches that are the heart of the Mount Pleasant area. Regardless of where we end up for portraits, your Charleston wedding experience will be gorgeous and draped in coastal beauty from start to finish of your special day.
We also recommend including the waterfronts of Historic Charleston in your Charleston engagement photos for at least one of your engagement photo locations. Whether on one of Charleston’s stunning waterfront properties, sticking your toes in the pristine sands of one of the local beaches, along the Ashley River, or even on the Battery Wall in the heart of Historic Charleston, the options are endless to choose from as Charleston wedding photographers. One of my favorite ‘locations’ for Charleston engagement photos just happens to be on the water, rather than on land!
Charleston Sailboat Engagement Photos
Molly and Evan joined us for their Charleston engagement photos aboard a gorgeous, restored vintage yacht. The stylish couple opted for two distinct looks for their engagement photos – the first, channeling a whimsical Jackie O and JFK in hues of blue, and the second, and all-white and cream look with sweaters and light-colored pants. We had a great time hanging out with these two, shooting lots of film aboard the vessel as the sun slowly set on the horizon. As Charleston wedding photographers, we will always recommend wearing something you are comfortable in for engagement photos, while still being stylish and keeping with the physical environment that you chose for your session.
Molly and Evan are college sweethearts, having met at my alma mater, Virginia Tech, during their undergraduate studies. Post grad, these two have settled down in the greater Washington D.C. region, and wanted to have a destination wedding on the East Coast that they would cherish for years to come. They settled upon the city of Charleston for their romantic destination wedding, and it was the same perfect backdrop to host their Charleston sailboat engagement photos within, too!
As the sun set on the Charleston harbour, the couple changed into their second look for their Charleston sailboat engagement photos. The sun began to kiss the horizon, which was the perfect time to open a bottle of champagne and share! We are so excited to be photographing Molly and Evan’s Admiral’s House wedding later this year with Burnette Events!
