Susie and Max’s Little Nell Aspen wedding was certainly one for the ages, and an Aspen wedding that I will be daydreaming of for years to come! When looking for a dreamy Colorado wedding venue, look no further than the breathtaking vistas of the Rocky Mountains, the San Juans, and the beautiful peaks surrounding the greater Denver area that can be found in Aspen.
A Destination Wedding in Aspen
When planning a destination wedding in Colorado, many couples turn to the jaw-dropping and iconic vistas that the front range of the Rocky Mountains can offer. Couples seeking a mountain wedding specifically will love the regal views that the mountains in Vail, Telluride, and Aspen offer, along with the world-class quality and service of the resorts and exclusive wedding venues that call these mountains home. Aspen is home to one of my favorite vistas to photograph Colorado weddings at, and requires a nearly 20 minute gondola ride to the top of Aspen for breathtaking mountain views, spectacular wedding photos, and some of the most unrivaled scenery in all of North America to utilize as a backdrop for a wedding ceremony and celebration. Stunning views of the mountains can be seen from every angle, whether you find yourself at the top of the mountain, or down at its base during your stay in town for an Aspen wedding. Situated in the heart of the Roarking Fork Valley, Aspen is surrounded on all sides by beautiful mountain views of the Rocky Mountains, and the drive through a glade of Aspen trees on the way into town is truly hard to beat. Downtown Aspen is a treat for guests traveling in from all over the world, and is only a three and a half hour drive from Denver’s international airport, too. Quaint boutiques, elevated hotels, Michelin-rated restaurants, and plenty of benches and parks line its historic roads and walking zones at the base of the mountain. During the winter season, Aspen is home to phenomenal Colorado skiing; vacationers travel from all corners of the world to experience wintertime skiing in the Rocky Mountains!
The Little Nell, situated in the heart of downtown Aspen and right next to the ski lifts to the top, offers its guests and weddings five-star service and dining, luxurious guest rooms, bridal suites with epic views of the mountain and surrounding town, and access to one of my favorite wedding venues in all of Colorado: the Aspen Mountain Club and the Little Nell Wedding Deck at the top of the peak!
A Fall Wedding in Colorado
S&M and their families planned for an epic Aspen wedding weekend with their favorite people, filled with plenty of stunning views and exclusive adventures for them and their guests. Traveling from New York, the couple and their wedding party got ready at the Little Nell for their Aspen wedding day in a beautiful bridal suite on the property. Many brides who have a Little Nell Aspen wedding choose to don their dress at the top of the mountain to complete their look, rather than ride the gondola in their wedding gowns.
S&M chose to have a scenic first look with each other at the top of the mountain before their ceremony at 11,212 feet, followed by wedding party photos with tall evergreen trees and the hazy blue mountain vistas as their backdrop. An intimate signing of their ketubah inside the The Aspen Mountain Club while their guests arrived made for a poignant and touching experience before they walked down the aisle with their families by their sides. Their ceremony atop the mountain at the Little Nell Wedding Deck was complimented by sensational sunset and an organically constructed chuppah decorated with ornate flowers in whites, creams, pastel pinks, and sage greens.
The newlyweds followed their stunning ceremony with a beautiful and lively reception within the Aspen Mountain Club. This space was absolutely transformed by their wedding planner, and is a large enough interior venue to house big weddings and large guest counts. Carefully hung greenery was attached to parts of the ceiling’s rafters and light fixtures, and was complimented by white fabric draping to create a dramatic and whimsical effect. Guests dined at table rounds covered in beautiful pastel floral designs and dozens of white candles in various sizes. The dance floor was opened with an epic live cover band, and their first dance was completed with cold sparklers and a dramatic dip that brought their guests all to their feet clapping in excitement and joy for the newlywed couple!
This Little Nell Aspen wedding was one of my favorites of the season – I can’t wait to share more from various beautiful Colorado wedding venues that the coming months will bring us to!
