We love photographing Colorado weddings, and the Estes Park region of Colorado is one of our favorite places to host a luxury mountain wedding in Colorado that is conveniently located near Denver, Colorado. Situated less than an hour north of downtown Denver, Estes Park is an easy choice for a wedding location. Out of town wedding guests are able to stay either in town, or in nearby Boulder, Colorado for overnight lodging options. And the town of Estes Park, mere minutes from Wild Basin Lodge and Event Center, offers plenty of dining, shopping, and tourism options, too!
Colorado Wedding Venues
When searching for your Colorado mountain wedding venue, we often reccomend to our clients to check out options that are northwest of Denver, Colorado for their location convenience, stunning mountain views, and ease of access for guests and family members. Located just outside of the bustling mountain town of Estes Park, Wild Basin Lodge offers a variety of amenities that make it easy to plan and execute your wedding party. To access the gorgeous venue, you can easily take County Road and other major roads to Wild Basin Lodge. Located just mere steps away from one of the Rocky Mountain National Park access gates, the lodge offers multiple buildings, facilities, ceremony sites, and on-site parking options for you and your guests.
Wild Basin Lodge Allenspark Colorado
We loved photographing this Wild Basin Lodge wedding last fall, and cannot reccomend enough this stunning Estes Park wedding venue for our sweet clients! Wild Basin Lodge is considered a sustainable wedding venue too, meaning that you can decrease your environmental footprint while hosting a stunning mountain wedding in Colorado! One of the best parts of this wedding venue is that you can host your entire event and wedding weekend in the many facilities and grounds it has to offer. The bride and groom chose to utilize each and every corner of the venue in a unique way, highlighting the gorgeous natural surroundings throughout the extensive property. Getting ready accommodations are available on the property, and there are also a variety of off-site Airbnbs and rental properties that offer more room and mountain views nearby in Allenspark. The couple chose to use the gorgeous ceremony site in the nearby meadow that features views of Mount Copeland, Mount Meeker, Meadow Peak, and Longs Peak off in the distance. It’s not often that you find a perfectly-situated mountainside venue in Colorado that does not require braving I-70 into the Front Range to attain incredible mountain views that are well-oriented with the sunset!
After a mountain wedding ceremony at Wild Basin Lodge, guests were ushered back to the main lodge building for cocktail hour, picking up glasses of champagne along the River Run path back to the lodge. Along one side of the main lodge, you will find a gorgeous rushing river that is nested between tall pine trees and rolling mountains. Some couples choose to utilize the River Run site for their ceremonies. The River Run site, overlooking the Saint Vrain River, offers amphitheatre-style seating that overlooks a wooden stage area that is backed by the rushing river nearby. This bride and groom, however, used the River Run site in a creative manner, opting to have their First Dances hosted there instead!

Estes Park Wedding Reception
As the sun starts to set over Allenspark, Colorado, guests can make their way into two of the Lodge’s banquet hall options for hosting dinner and the wedding reception. This couple chose to utilize the downstairs banquet hall facilities for their intimate, candlelit dinner. Featuring whitewashed walls and lots of natural light from windows overlooking the rushing river, guests can be treated to a family-style dinner service with river and mountain views as the sun sets over the Rocky Mountains. We love the simplicity and gorgeous natural surroundings of this reception space, offering a cozy blank canvas to bring in your own unique wedding decor and floral installations.
